October comes to an end, and it means that it’s the time to put all of your energy and effort into your studies until it’s too late to improve your grades. But how can one do this, especially when they lack motivation? Here are three tips from us on how to boost your motivation and avoid autumn anxiety.
When you sit all day long in your room or waste your time scrolling through social media, it’s hard to get any motivation for your studies. Time management is important for any student, and you should master this skill as soon as possible. Don’t waste your precious time – it’s your most valuable resource, and you should spend it wisely.
The first thing you should do is to create a plan considering your classes schedule, homework time, socializing, hobbies, sports, etc. Take your time to imagine a perfect day when you are productive and optimistic, do well with your tasks, and have time to do something that you really enjoy. If you can imagine a day like this, write down the key elements of it – homework is done, meeting with your friends, favorite TV show, etc. Then try to put all of the components into your monthly planner. We suggest you start with a monthly plan because it’s easier to master it first as you don’t have to be so precise when it comes to the hour plan. Now, open a monthly layout and put your “happy elements” here and there – a few meetings a month, a few free evenings, a complete day off or two when you can do whatever you want, events that you want to attend, etc. Fill in the rest with the tasks that you are less enthusiastic about – homework due dates, tests, exams, job shifts. Here you have a little plan for yourself to follow.
Once you master a monthly plan, you can do the same with your weekly and daily plans. Just put everything that you need to do into your planner and follow your schedule. You will see that it’s much easier to be productive and organized; thus, you can do more in a day and boost your motivation. You will have more free time once you understand how to manage your time and how to spend it wisely.
It’s easy to get bored and unmotivated when you are stuck with some very annoying and dull project. Especially when you can’t force yourself to continue. What you should do to avoid these blocks is to shift your focus from one task to another. Give yourself some time to rest from your essay and do something else. Maybe you don’t like particular tasks, like, for example, writing literary reviews, but enjoy gathering statistics for some research. Switch from one task to another for one hour or so to come back to it later when you have more energy for it.
You can also turn to a professional writing team for help. If you know that you don’t have enough time to finish an assignment before it’s due or feel like you just can’t do it well, then there is nothing to think about – just let us know that you need assistance, and we will complete your assignment for you. It’s also a great motivation booster when you can avoid doing some particularly boring and challenging assignments.
Neglecting yourself amid study semester is a very common thing among students. They just don’t have the energy to do something except to try to study as hard as they can. It drains their motivation and sometimes can be very damaging to their physical and mental health. As it was said earlier, you should plan your time in a way that allows you to do what you like and also take care of yourself. Don’t forget to visit doctors when it’s needed. Turn to a specialist if you feel depressed or overwhelmed with your studies. Don’t try to tackle all of the spheres of your life at the same time – it’s possible only if you have a time turner. In other cases – prioritize yourself. Sometimes, you just need to miss that party and stay home to take a hot shower and watch some TV. It’s good to think of what you really want and need at the time, not of what you are expected to do. Many students feel like they miss a lot and thus sleep less in order to go here and there, do this and that. Relax, breathe, take your time. It all will be good, eventually. Don’t rush but also don’t waste your time on things that are not worth it.
